Inscription 42: Finding God in Esther
Esther is a story of God's deliverance of the Jews from Haman's evil plot, which the Jews celebrate on Purim. One of the traditional observances is to retell the story, melodrama style, with audience participation, which is what we did for our study on Esther.
But it's not just about deliverance; the Bible has lots of stories of deliverance. What makes Esther unique is that God is never mentioned, not as an oversight, but to make a profound theological point.
